About Freshmen Rep
The Freshmen Representative (Freshmen Rep) work to develop their leadership and professional skills by leading freshmen-oriented socials and professional development events, including one Freshmen Mini-Conference in the spring. The Freshmen Representative is separate from the SWElites program. Since the role is for freshmen, spots do not open until the fall. Howdy! My name is Irene Alex and I am a freshman general engineering major from Austin, Texas. I'm excited to serve as one of the Freshmen Representative Co-Chairs for the 2025-26 academic year! In my free time I enjoy playing tennis, exploring new books, and all things coffee. I'm looking forward to creating friendships and making memories with the SWE community!
Dhrumi Shah
Howdy, my name is Dhrumi Shah, and I am a freshman biomedical engineering major from Houston, Texas! I’ve always been a passionate advocate for increasing gender equality, especially the amount of women in STEM fields, so I’m very excited to be one of the Freshman Representatives this year!! Some of my hobbies include crafting, crocheting, and singing. I look forward to all that SWE will bring this year!
